Buyer 2: Driving Supplier Partnerships, Inventory Accuracy, and Process Improvement

Are you a proactive problem-solver with strong communication and analytical skills? As a Buyer 2 at Park Industries, you’ll plan, execute, and monitor the flow of externally procured materials while supporting production, service needs, and continuous operational improvement. You’ll work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and senior buyers to optimize performance, reduce waste, and maintain accurate ERP system data.

What You’ll Do

As a Buyer 2, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring timely, cost-effective, and accurate procurement activities. Key responsibilities include:

Material Planning & Procurement

  • Plan and execute the flow of externally procured materials from suppliers to Park’s production floor.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend improvements to support business needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce transit time, cost, and process waste.

Supplier Performance & Relationship Management

  • Coordinate supplier meetings and communications.
  • Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with the Senior Buyer to provide timely feedback.
  • Address non-conformance issues and support resolution activities.

ERP Accuracy & Change Management

  • Maintain accurate JDE data, update ERP information, and ensure timely approval and management of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Follow up with suppliers on ECO-related adjustments and ensure system alignment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in internal and cross-department teams to support improvements or innovation initiatives.
  • Provide backup support within the department as needed.
  • Take part in departmental projects and improvement efforts.
Requirements

Experience and Qualifications 

Education

  • Two- or four-year degree in a related field, or equivalent experience (preferred)

Experience

  • 3–5 years of related purchasing or supply chain experience (required)
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferred)
  • Experience with quoting, supplier negotiations, and manufacturing environments (preferred)

Travel

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Pay Transparency Statement

In accordance with pay transparency regulations, the anticipated starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $26.50 to $33.50. Please note that the range provided is an estimate and not a guarantee; the final offer will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, location, and assigned shift. Full-time employees may also be eligible for variable compensation, company-wide incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. Additionally, the availability of benefits and programs may vary depending on the hire date, employment type, and hours worked.
