Letter from AMFA President March 2021

AMFA members and friends,

I hope this message finds you healthy, busy, and safe!

I’d like to urge you to attend the virtual AMFA meeting next Wednesday, March 10 at 12 noon. The keynote presentation is “What is ISO Certification?” Speakers will be Heath Boe, Adjunct Instructor at Advanced Minnesota, and Ken Stocco, Six Sigma Black Belt. Register to attend now. Implementing an effective and robust ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) will help you to focus on the important areas of your business and improve efficiency.
AMFA’s January 13 membership meeting was a great success with Matthew McCullough of Lake Superior College speaking on Cyber Security. These virtual meetings are going well and there’s a place for you! Thank you to all of our presenters and attendees as we continue to navigate this brave new world.

Check out the AMFA member feature article on NEXT Career Pathways of the Itasca Area Schools Collaborative (IASC), and please consider purchasing an ad in the printed 2021 MMA Membership Directory featuring information on all members of AMFA, CMMA and TSMA, due to come out in early June.

Have you heard? The AFMA website has been improved and offers more value, tools and action steps! Past events like virtual webinars and member meetings are all there and full of current information. It’s your doorway to the collective knowledge of the Iron Range and Twin Ports manufacturing community.

AMFA continues to focus on our goals of educating our members, developing our workforce and legislative advocacy. Part of that focus includes the AMFA Educational Trust. The AMFA board is planning a Beverage Tasting Event on June 16 at Clyde Iron Works and a golf social in August. Though we are really looking forward to seeing you in person, ultimately those plans may need to change due to social restrictions. Stay tuned. Check out all the upcoming events.

Welcome to our new member; MN Deed and Stern Assembly, Inc.

Remember, that you can post your jobs on the AMFA website, another tool in your recruitment toolbox!

Let us know if you have or would like a virtual tour of your company, we’ll help you to get it out far and wide in our area!

AMFA, as always, we’re in it together.

- Wade Karnes
AMFA President
