AMFA CTE Jamboree addresses worker shortage in manufacturing

AMFA proudly hosted a first CTE (Career and Technical Education) Jamboree at Cloquet High School on November 17th. The purpose of the Jamboree was to get teachers in Career and Technical Education and manufacturers from the Arrowhead region in contact with each other. The goal is to start building partnerships for manufacturing pathways for students in local high schools to help with the worker shortage in manufacturing careers.

The event was well attended with around 30 participants. The group consisted of manufacturers, educators, students, legislators, and members of the press. After networking and a few presentations, the group toured Cloquet High School’s technical wing. Some of the educators and students in the program were there to answer questions and talk about the program.

AMFA received a $1500 grant from Sappi, the Cloquet Paper Mill, to make this event possible. A huge thank you to Sappi!

This event is strategic effort to address the workforce shortage in manufacturing. We are looking forward to hosting a 2nd annual CTE Jamboree next November. Please make plans to attend!
