The downtown campus for LSC is the home of the Integrated Manufacturing program, which includes Engineering CAD Technology, Machine Tool Technology and Welding. LSC offers various certificates as well as 2 year Diplomas or AAS Degrees in any of those 3 programs.
Engineering CAD Technology: LSC’s Engineering CAD Technology program provides students with a thorough understanding of basic engineering skills and manufacturing processes. Courses also include basic hands-on machine shop and welding experience. This total knowledge is the applied through the use of 2D and 3D CAD technologies. CAD software programs covered include AutoCAD, Solidworks, PTC Creo and Revit. Students will apply the design process from concept to initial design to prototype and then to final product. This includes visualization to sketching to the final 2D and 3D engineered CAD software production drawing presentation.
Machine Tool Technology: LSC’s Machine tool lab space offers students experience with the nations most advanced equipment. Students are exposed to a wide spectrum of machining equipment, from traditional millwork and lathes to the most up-to-date completely computerized technology in the industry. Programs offered in Machine tool department include CNC Programing and Technician, Rapid Prototyping and Design and Manual Machining.
Welding: The Welding Program at LSC provides a broad-based education in the manufacturing environment and gives student an understanding of the entire manufacturing process from conception to completion. Curriculum focuses on welding skills, theory, fabrication, layout print reading, welding symbols math and welding codes. Specific Welding experiences include Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Flux-cored Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and Robotic Welding.
We will do tours of the CAD Lab, Machine Tool Lab, Protype and Inspection Lab, Welding Lab and the soon to be Robotics and Automation Lab- in two separate groups.
