Membership: Our November “Holiday Maker Market” was an enjoyable success! Despite COVID, 14 exhibitors and over 120 shoppers came to the Makerspace! Shoppers wore masks, kept distances; all went so well that we scheduled a longer event for December.
Unfortunately, vendor fairs are now restricted in Minnesota. IRM found itself between a rock and a hard spot, as every Iron Ranger does now and then. Creative ideas flourished until the “Holiday Maker of the Day” was created! On select dates in December, the IRM retail space will expand to include an exhibitor at our 17-foot-long wood table in the conference room! Details below!
Maintenance: Members had rearranged the Clean Lab to host our first craft fair; chalk lines were drawn to expand to 20 vendors in December. People volunteered and worked together in classic IRM style. We even purchased another heater scheduled to be running by the December event.
Unique: Since retail experiences are within suggested guidelines, IRM will be hosting the
HOLIDAY MAKER OF THE DAY from 2:00 to 6:00 pm onsite on the following dates:
December 3 Thursday Silk Scarf Painting, Charlotte Hanegmon
Painted face masks, scarves, scrub tops
4 Friday JRs Metal and More, Jerry Rengo
Stained glass, knives, blacksmithing
6 Sunday Brandy Maki
Wood shelves, arts & crafts
9 Wednesday Amy’s Baskets and Crafts, Amy Huyck
Baskets and handwoven items
10 Thursday Floodwood River Farm, Robert & Jill Hietala
Canned produce, jams, mittens, aprons
11 Friday B & B Design Specialties, Roberta Morrow
Face masks, crafts for home, pets, travel
13 Sunday Anderson Piano Services, Kris Anderson

Workshops: We are still offering introductory courses for members, officially that includes the woodshop and forges. Unofficially, introductory help occurs every day, member-to-member, especially with a couple of seasoned craftsmen who thrive on teaching the trades. Our newest member, at this writing, is a 9th grade student expanding his abilities; he has learned who to ask and has expanded his access to power tools daily by being safe. We have one blacksmithing in December; the chance to make a fire poker, listed under “events” at: www.ironrangemakerspace.com.
Hours: 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, Wednesday thru Saturday or 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday
