AMFA President's Letter - Fall 2022

Hello everyone,
Fall is upon us and AMFA is starting a new season of events!

Register to attend the AMFA Luncheon Meeting on September 20 at Lake Superior College in Duluth. We will be having a presentation from the Minnesota Multi Housing Association on workforce housing, followed by a tour of Lake Superior College’s Integrated Manufacturing program. You won’t want to miss it!

We are also very excited to announce AMFA will be hosting a Manufacturing CTE Jamboree for the first time in November. The event will connect the manufacturing industry and education. We are inviting school board members, superintendents, principals, counselors, Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers, manufacturers, and community leaders to learn about the CTE initiatives in our local high schools. Local manufacturers and educators can interact with students and educators, listen to speakers on CTE Education, tour the HS facilities, and a local manufacturer. AMFA received a grant from Sappi, the Cloquet Paper Mill to make this event possible. Watch for emails with details and register early.

Check out the feature article on Advanced Machine Guarding Solutions and the plans for Manufacturing Month in October in the Duluth-Superior area.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the 10th annual AMFA Golf Social in June. We raised over $5000 to benefit youth manufacturing programs in our region. Make plans to attend the 11th annual event next June!

Plans are under way for AMFA members to attend Fab Tech in Atlanta, Georgia November 8 – 10. Read the article in this newsletter for more information.

AMFA is always looking for tour ideas for our general meetings and networking ideas. If you have a suggestion, please let us know. We are here to help and I look forward to connecting with you at our meeting on September 20.

AMFA, as always, we’re in it together.
