Where do you work, what do you do? APEX is an economic development non-profit with a geography that mirrors that of AMFA, the ten-county region of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. In addition to attracting businesses to the area, it’s our job to assure existing local businesses have the tools and resources they need to stay and expand in the AMFA region.

What was your first job?  Not my first, but my most notable early job was as a Deckhand and Tour Guide on the Vista Fleet cruise boats in the Twin Ports harbor. What an amazing job! On the water all day giving tours and cracking jokes on the microphone. Maybe the best job ever.

Family? My lovely partner Katie and I live in Denfeld with our two cats (Jovan and Ötzi) and our mutt (Gordy).
 
Do you have any hobbies, play any sports or favorite games?  My life revolves around movies, music, travel, and food. I’ve also been a drummer for over 20 years and played many shows around town.
 
Comment on your involvement with AMFA: I’ve been an AMFA board member since 2014. From 2016-2020 I sat as Vice President. For six consecutive years I lead the Beer Tasting fundraiser events raising thousands of dollars for the AMFA Educational Trust. I’ve also volunteered at AMFA’s promotional booth at the FabTech event for the last eight years.      
 
What would AMFA members be surprised to learn about you?  I started attending AMFA meetings in 2013 when I was still a Business Development Intern with APEX.
